, an electricity supplier dedicated to providing cheap energy to small and mid-sized companies, does not pretend to be a green company, but it does believe in helping businesses conserve energy. We are not powered by windmills and solar power their simply isn t enough produced yet to meet demand. At present, the electricity we provide is made from burning fossil fuels just like everyone else s, says Graham Paul, Sales Marketing Director of E4B. But by cutting unnecessary consumption our customers can save money and protect the environment and that where we can help. fuel alternatives

So how do electricity costs mount up Not so long ago, you could walk into a shop or small business and the only equipment you would find was a telephone, a cash register and possibly a computer. Now there are dozens of gadgets and appliances sucking up energy almost everywhere you look - printers, fax machines, air conditioning units, promotional pieces, laptop and mobile phone chargers, refrigerators, ventilators, modems and routers, coffee machines, power tools, machinery, and the list goes on and on. Many of them are never disconnected from the mains and buzz, whir and generate heat even when not in use. Now is the time to consider their cost to you, and to the environment. alternative fuels data center

The good news is that there are many ways to conserve energy and not even notice it, except when you look at the bill at the end of the month. And with increasing awareness of the impact our actions have on the environment, staff may no longer dismiss the boss as a penny pinching miser for insisting on turning the lights out after work. All it takes to make a difference is a little awareness and some positive thinking. alternative fuels for cars

The most important way to reduce electricity consumption is to instil a culture of energy saving in your company. Typically, electricity is not so much used inefficiently as wasted, leaked and lost. Solving this problem begins by asking some simple questions about how equipment is used and maintained. Is the photocopier used often enough to justify it being on all day Is the refrigerator door properly sealed and opened as rarely as possible Are the computer s energy saving settings on When was the last time that ventilator was cleaned Why are the windows open if the heating is on alternative fuel conversion

Then there is the equipment itself. Replacing 38mm (T12) fluorescent tubes with 26mm (T8) tubes uses around 8 per cent less energy, while compact fluorescent lamps use 80 per cent less energy than tungsten GLS lamps. And for office equipment, look for energy saving devices with stand-by features that bear the Energy Star logo. And if your employees are wearing T-shirts in November, remember that each extra degree can put up to 8% on your heating bill. alternative fuel tax credit

London, 30, May 2007 When it comes to electricity, small and medium size enterprises can never assume they are getting a good deal. In fact, it s safe to say that - as the market stands today - businesses should assume the opposite is true, and that they are being taken for a ride by the big six energy providers., one of several smaller providers offering fair, flexible and consistent pricing, has compiled an essential guide for free download to help electricity customers see through the dirty tricks. alternative fuel systems

Despite the bad publicity heaped on industry fat cats , over 20% of customers have never switched electricity providers since deregulation of the market. The reason, according to Graham Paul at, is that they simply don t have access to the right information. Our guide to seeing through the small print puts the power back in the hands of the customer. This essential document not only states the case for switching, it also provides all the necessary information and addresses for businesses to carry it through, he says, adding, There is no reason for loyal customers to pay more for electricity. That s why the Elctricity4Business Guide to the small print of electricity supply contracts , available for download in convenient pdf format, is essential reading for any business. alternative fuel credit

In the UK, the chances are high that a small or medium size business receives its electricity from one of the six major companies. In fact, between them, British Gas, EDF Energy, Npower, Powergen, Scottish Southern Energy and Scottish Power share 96% of the market. Despite the promise of competition through deregulation, all of these providers have routinely been able to raise prices by putting their customers on evergreen fixed-price contracts that are automatically extended for months or even years unless the costumer takes timely action. If businesses fail to provide notice within a specified period, suppliers reserve the right to increase prices, even as the wholesale price of electricity goes down. As a result, customers that signed up to a long-term contract in early 2006 - when energy wholesale prices were at their peak - are often paying double or even triple today s market price for their electricity. alternative fuel stations

If companies are wise to the tricks they can expect from their electricity supplier, they can switch and slash their electricity bills at a stroke. It s as simple as that, Paul explains. Many of our customers save in excess of 000 a year, simply by filling out our template letter and switching to our fair and flexible pricing plan. ethanol alternative fuel

London, UK, 9 August 07 - Smaller businesses should buy cheap and conserve energy for maximum green effect says . alternative fuel resources

Small and mid-sized businesses are already doing their bit for the environment by paying the mandatory Climate Change Levy, set to rise incrementally over time. And responsible businesses understand that this is essential for the long-term sustainability of our planet. alternative fuel station

However, to suggest that these same businesses should switch to green energy and pay even more for the privilege in order to right the wrongs of big business; the real polluters, would be imposing an unfair burden on those whose bills have already doubled since 2005. alternative fossil fuels

Green energy, no doubt, will have its day and rightly so. But in times where barely 10% of energy is generated from renewable sources the responsibility to embrace this in the first instance clearly lies with big business. By doing this they will help stimulate the market creating the economies of scale necessary to produce this energy at more competitive rates for all. When the supply gap shortens and the cost of producing green energy drops considerably, then is the time for all businesses to consider the switch. alternative fuel options

That not to suggest that small and mid-sized businesses should sit on their laurels waiting for this to happen. There much that can be done to reduce energy consumption-with surprisingly little investment. Buying your energy from a low-cost supplier such as will provide you with the savings necessary to invest in energy saving devices which over time will help reduce your carbon footprint cutting your bills further still. alternative fuel company

ScottishPower has been forced to pass on higher gas and electricity costs to customers, according to the company s energy retail director. Willie McDiarmid made the comment after the business energy provider announced that its gas and electricity prices are set to increase by 15 per cent and 14 per cent respectively. The move makes ScottishPower the fourth of the UK s Big Six energy providers to increase its prices in the first few weeks of 2008. alternative fuel technologies

Mr McDiarmid said: We have worked hard to protect our customers from these increases for as long as possible and offer consistently competitive energy prices. Our input costs are now at record levels, having increased by up to 97 per cent since February 2007. Like other energy providers, we are now forced to pass on some of these higher costs. In the past month, business electricity suppliers npower, British Gas and EDF Energy have all increased the cost of their tariffs, blaming higher wholesale energy prices for their decisions. alternative fuels hydrogen

Recent near-identical price rises by business electricity suppliers indicate that they do not worry about providing competition for consumers, according to the UK s watchdog. energywatch s director of campaigns, Adam Scorer, made the comment in response to ScottishPower s decision to join British Gas, EDF Energy and npower in raising their domestic tariffs. He added that the current trend for increasing prices will not have done much to persuade consumers that the market is working in their interest, and called for action on the issue. alternative fuel stock

Firstly, a Competition Commission investigation is a matter of urgency, he explained, before adding that the government needs to make the introduction of social tariffs mandatory for energy suppliers. alternative fuel use

Last week, new research by the energy body found that business electricity suppliers also need to improve the complaints service they offer to consumers. Around 97 per cent of people who had complained to energy providers stated that they had failed to deliver on what they promised. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have an enormous part to play in making the UK a greener place to work, according to a leading environmentalist. Penny Poyzer, who appears in BBC2 show No Waste Like Home, stated that as smaller firms employ around half of the workers in Britain, they can do a lot to influence the green credentials of their staff. She added that small business electricity customers should be encouraged to become greener as it will help them reduce the cost of bills, as well as waste. against alternative fuels

We all know that the cost of paper is going up, water use is going up, and electricity is soaring, she explained. So even if a company isn t that connected with the environment, they can shave a lot of money off the bottom line, which obviously will have an impact on profit it s just common sense.
